Security update and important notice

We decided to stop selling and maintaining the extension Booking Calendar for Joomla! - also known as Joomla Booking Calendar and Booking Calendar. The extension has reached the end of its life.

We've made one last security update (only to the Joomla! 3 version), and you can download it below for free. All previous and other versions are vulnerable to several security issues, including the ability to edit calendars without being logged in, CSRF and SQL-injection. This last update patches all these known issues.

Update (comment) 18 June 2018: The issue that a calendar shows the booking history while the option is selected to hide the booking history is also fixed for the Joomla! 3 version. But note that lower versions (so also for other Joomla! versions) might still be vulnerable because they were never be patched. Please check this yourself.

We will no longer be maintaining or supporting the extension. If you want to continue using it, we strongly advise you to hire a developer to handle the (security) maintenance from now on. We personally would recommend Dejan Sabados, the developer who applied the security patches to the latest version. You can contact Dejan here: dejansabados@yahoo.com.

There is a chance that we will update the version below. But if we do, we won't be sending you an email about it, because we're not allowed to. So please keep an eye on this page from time to time, but please don't count on new (security) updates.

If you want to use an availability calendar that is being maintained, we advise to use AvailabilityCalendar.com. It also works with Joomla! We'd like to offer you 12 months for free. You can use the coupon code JOOMLA on the check-out page.

Download Booking Calendar for Joomla! for Joomla! 3

Booking Calendar for Joomla! version 3.4.0 (For Joomla! 3 - 22 May 2018 - ZIP, 101 KB)

Update instructions

Please ask your webmaster or developer to perform the update for you!

  1. Before you update, please create a back-up of your entire website.
  2. Unzip the downloaded zip file.
  3. Upload the com_ and mod_ files (Extensions > Manage > Install > Upload Package File).
  4. Test everything!

If step 3 doesn't work, you'll have to manually uninstall the old component and module and manually install the new component and module. The downside is that you'll have to recreate everything manually. We're very sorry about that.

FAQ

I see error messages or the calendar seems to be broken?
Remove the cache of your browser and try again. If you are using the 'Menu Item Type' Booking Calendar for Joomla! to link to the calendar and you get an error: it's likely because this doesn't work on PHP 7.1 and higher anymore. We didn't fix this bug. If you experience this problem, then please replace that by a link to an article (and insert the calendar into that article). If that doesn't help: Please contact your webmaster, webhosting provider or template developer for help first. It's likely a server or template issue.

After the update my calendar shows black days?
Please open the legend of your calendar and check that the legend items are published correctly. Also open the module(s), check the settings and save.

Will custom code be lost after the upgrade?
Yes, it will. But CSS changes that have been applied to your own theme or template will likely still work.

Is this update real? Or is this a scam?
This update is real. Also check our homepage joomlabookingcalendar.com. The extension has reached the end of its life.
